Where to look first vacation? Jamaica or Mexico, in March?
My husband and I are planning our first holiday (also a belated honeymoon three years) I can not decide between Jamaica and Mexico. We want somewhere warm and dry, and all inclusive. Any suggestions? I was in the army for 11 years and I've been to many places around the world. My husband never has left the states. We are from Oregon. We are looking very relaxed. Not terribly crowded, but not private so you lose some of the ammeneties.
You has not said where you live. Depend on whether you want to travel in the U.S.. Of course, Mexico is closer, if you live near the border with Mexico, or large cities with direct air to the tourist spots in Mexico. If you live on the east coast is obviously easier and less expensive to get to Jamaica. Again, if you live near a large city with a large airport which has direct flights to Jamaica, would be much easier than inside somewhere in the Midwest. OK, here are the factors which may be decisive for you: Do you speak any Spanish? That makes a difference. You may want a tour with a group if you know any Spanish at all, and want to travel to Mexico. But in cities and tourist resorts, you will find no lack of people speaking English. Obviously, There is no language problem in Jamaica. Have you studied the culture and history of either or both countries? Do you intend to swim? Do you dive? Fish? Is your navigation more exciting? This could indicate Jamaica is for you. Or are you Lubbers land who want to visit tourist places on earth, as places of the Maya or Aztec? So is Mexico tours that you might like. How long will you stay? If only less than a week, you may decide more geographically concentrated area rather than spending all his time traveling around the country. Maybe Jamaica, since it is a big island. Mexico is a big place, but you can spend your entire vacation in a resort. There are plenty of sites for the Convention and Visitor Authority for the two countries. Get some brochures agency trips as well, to see what he can get within your price range in the hotels and resorts of good quality. If you are adventurous, you can travel alone, or if you want make some excursions and guides then a quality package tour can be for you.
