Killer Ratings

Los Angeles is no stranger to glamour, celebrity…and murder. When Susan Kaplan moves to L.A. to become a TV writer, she''s thrilled to be hired as a writers'' assistant on the well-regarded but low-rated TV series Babbitt & Brooks. The last thing she expects, however, is that she''d find herself working for the beautiful yet seriously neurotic Rebecca Saunders, the show''s less-than-competent associate producer who may or may not have gotten the job by sleeping with Babbitt & Brooks'' demanding creator and executive producer, Ray Goldfarb. And Susan definitely doesn''t expect to find murdered Rebecca''s body in her office at the studio early one morning. When the police learn that Rebecca torpedoed Susan''s writing career shortly before her death, Susan becomes their number one suspect. Determined to prove her innocence and find the murderer, Susan discovers that all her colleagues have secrets they would kill to protect. From producers to writers to stars, it seems that the hopes and dreams of nearly everyone associated with the show were being threatened by Rebecca. Despite the danger to her own life, Susan remains determined to find Rebecca''s killer and in the process unmasks the dirty little secrets behind the making of a primetime television series. She learns that real life behind the camera is far more dramatic than the fictional one in front of it. Lisa Seidman draws on her 30 years of experience as a successful television writer to take the reader behind the scenes and show how the struggle to achieve high ratings truly can lead to murder.

Ratings agencies wield immense power over the fate of individual corporations, countries, and whole economies, yet their workings are remarkably opaque. Have you visited Las Vegas or lately? What hotel and what was ur experience?

Hi there! Me and my boyfriend is planning to marry in Las Vegas in June. So Im looking for the best deals out there, but I dont want to stay at the point of sale of the hotel. Sooooo .. I really appreciate cwould if you guys can give me ur input on this. We were thinking of staying at the Luxor, but rates of the past that worries me .. we are also the Arias but everyone is not the best location. We like a hotel with a spa, and we're trying to pamper ourselves before the big day and a lounge for my girlfriend to do. Thanks! Some reviews said the location is not the largest if you want to "break casino" I'd really like some comments people who have stayed in this hotel or the Luxor .. or any other suggestions?!?

Although I have not been Aria in person, I still would recommend the Luxor in quality and location. My last trip I stayed at the Encore. Even standard rooms are very nice (although I expected to be somewhat larger) and staff was nice too. It is a little north of my choice however, as I would prefer more central strip. If you want an inexpensive hotel to save some money without be a hotel of the position, I recommend the Planet Hollywood. They have decent rooms and a great location, especially for the price. And they have a spa there too
